A revolutionary patented image processing technology is the magic behind Scanmarker. Unlike other products, Scanmarker does not use costly, complicated mechanical components such as wheels and tooth-wheels to measure scanning speed. Instead, the printed text is scanned and captured as a raw image – and processed to a high-quality image, ready for recognition by the OCR software. Therefore it can scan any language, eg. English, Afrikaans, Zulu or Xhosa.

This is a great memorizing tool and gives you a clearer understanding and comprehension of the scanned material. This feature has opened up an exciting door of opportunity to enhance the learning process and promote independence for those with dyslexia and other learning disabilities. Scanmarker is an effective tool used in the Special Education sector to help every student achieve academic success.

Please note that the English text-to-speak function is available to use for Text-To-Speech in South Africa when utilizing the Scanmarker Scanner Pens.

The Afrikaans Text-To-Speech function is currently only available on Windows Operated computers.

(The manufacturer/OEM of the Scanmarker products is busy working on the Afrikaans TTS for iOS and Android-operated systems).

Even text from email / SMS / WhatsApp messages, or any printed text from other applications, can be copied and pasted into the Scanmarker App to enable text-to-speech in English. English summaries and notes can be copied into this feature, enabling you to listen to your summaries, while jogging, walking and/or relaxing.
